Diane Deaton-Street
2007
Photographer Diane Deaton-Street needed to start a web portfolio to showcase her
photography. In addition to creating the site, I built the gallery pages with PHP in such a way that would
allow Ms. Deaton-Street to add photos just by naming her files with a sequential number and title, then
uploading the files to the appropriate photo category directory on her site.

Find Follow Me
Summer 2010
While building a vanity site for myself consisting of a single "hub page" linking to all my other sites and social networking profiles, it occured to me that other people might want the ability to create their own hub pages too. Now they can with FindFollow.me. Registered users can create a page with their own links and customize its look with a variety of styling options.

IT Exchange Group
Spring 2010
High-end marketing and meeting planning services provider IT Exchange Group required a redesign to reinvigorate their aging site's look. I created a bolder and more contemporary design, adding more visible calls to action and raising page content up higher by removing superfluous banner images on sub pages.

Framingham History Center
Winter 2009
The FHC required a site redesign to match a major rebranding
campaign. A key objective was to create a professional but inviting look in keeping with their new style
guide. I also created a calendar app and custom WordPress theme for their blog. Social
networking links and an email sign-up form were added to encourage online interaction.
Winner: Judge's Choice Award, Best Website, New England Museum Association's 2010 Publication Award Competition.

Katrin Schumann
Fall 2008
To coincide with publishing her new book Mothers Need Time-Outs Too, author
Katrin Schumann needed to upgrade her personal web site's look as well as update its content and restructure
its architecture. I designed and created this site for her using XHTML and CSS.

COADE User Conference
2008 - 2009
Building on the success of their CADWorx User Conference, leading software developer
COADE required a more complex web site for their 2009 COADE User Conference. I designed and built one for them
using XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP and Flash. A particular challenge was integrating their event management system
as its customization capability was limited. I overcame this issue with a combination of CSS and DOM scripting.

Kirkbride Buildings
2001-2010
My fascination with these Victorian Age asylums generated this site documenting
their legacy and Dr. Kirkbride's belief that good architecture could help cure illness. I designed
and built the site with XHTML, CSS, Ajax and PHP. I even took all the contemporary pictures too. A WordPress blog and
phpBB forum have been tightly integrated into the site with custom-made templates and RSS feed readers written
in PHP.

Weddings by Nelson
2009
Massachusetts Justice of the Peace Nelson Goldin wanted to establish a web presence
to attract more customers. I designed this simple site for him to start with and added some elegant
graphical touches to give it a classy feel.

Wallpaper Maven
Summer 2009
I decided to develop my PHP/MySQL skills by building this database-driven wallpaper site.
I learned quite a few things along the way and have since been able to avoid some pitfalls when building similar
sites for clients. It was also a good exercise in learning the benefits of providing multiple options for displaying,
sorting and categorizing information.

Waking Dream Press
Spring 2008
Startup publisher Waking Dream Press needed to establish a web presence and hired me to build
their site. The design includes a subtle animation using DOM scripting. I normally wouldn't include an animation as part
of a site's basic style, but in this case it's very subtle, the pages still function without the animation present, and
it helps establish a connection between the publisher's name (Waking Dream Press) and their web site's look and feel.

Feng Shui Connections
Winter 2008
Feng Shui practioner Peg Donahue required an update to her site's style and content. I gave the site a
dramatic look working from photos she provided and reorganized the site's architecture to make it easier to navigate. I used
PHP and MySQL for the backend and developed a Content Management System so that Ms. Donahue could edit, create, and delete content without
having to learn HTML.

Northeast Architecture
Fall 2008
I built this site documenting architecture of the Northeastern United States mainly to develop my PHP and MySQL
skills as well as to experiment with Prototype and Scriptaculous. While I did rely upon Lokesh Dhakar's Lightbox script — just
because it's such an elegant solution — the site's other interface functions are all my own Prototype/Scriptaculous developments.
I also took all the photos (except the historical ones) on this site.
